Donavan Lakes Fishing Club is an outstanding outdoor recreational area. The Club is open for annual public membership. There are nine lakes and they all have fishing piers with fish feeders. There are security lights with electrical outlets beside each lake. There are 1,000 acres of prairie, swamp, pasture, hardwoods, and trails available to members. The Club grounds have locked entrances and are well kept and clean.

The lakes are stocked with Florida bass, Tiger bass, blueguill bream, coppernose bream, shellcrackers, catfish, tilapia, fathead minnows and threadfin shad. Three deep water wells keep the lake levels up in the hot summer.

Four Club lakes are 12 years old and many trophy bass are being caught from these beautiful lakes. Two lakes are located in a bottomland swamp and they contain heavy structure. Several bass weighing over thirteen pounds have been caught and released from Club lakes. A 14 pound four ounce bass is the top catch for the Club. Many bream weighing over two pounds have been caught. Two three pound bream are on record with the Club.

A restroom and fish cleaning station are available to members of the Donavan Club. A roofed party pier with fishing deck and hot and cold running water is located on Sturdivant Lake. Marion city water and a deep water wells provide drinking water for members. Members are allowed to leave their boats at the lakes.

Outstanding primitive camping is available along the lakes. One self-contained RV pad is available for members. This site has a security light, 30/50 amp hookup, fishing pier and rocked pad. Five sites with 30/50 amp hookups exist beside Swamp Lake. This area is designed for tents and for popup campers.

The Donavan Inn is a sportsman’s lodge at the Club and it is available for public rent. This old farm house was built in 1880 and has recently been restored including a roofed deck and bedroom annex. Club members receive a discount for renting the Inn.
